DIOCESAN INSPIRATION DAY Calling all Ministers of the Word and of Holy Communion. The next Diocesan Inspiration Day and Commissioning takes place on 16 September, at The Spa, Scarborough. FELLOWSHIP & SOCIAL – (Coordinators Jennie & Greg Black) Visitation of the National Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary St Aelred’s Church, York, Saturday 24th June. On Saturday June 24th the World Apostolate of Fatima-England and Wales is bringing to St Aelred’s Parish, Tang Hall, York, the centenary Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary as approved by Bishop Drainey. All are invited to come and see this beautiful statue with the relics of Saints Jacinta and Francisco. A full programme can be seen on the Poster in church.
POSTGATE RALLY The Diocesan Celebration of The English & Welsh Martyrs – with a focus on Nicholas Postgate – takes place on Sunday 2 July at Egton Bridge. Hymns from 2.30pm. Outdoor Mass at 3.00pm. Bring a picnic and your own seat. EVANGELISATION, OUTREACH & MISSION – (Coordinators Robert Toone & ______) HELP & SUPPORT UKRAINE In a written submission to the meeting on 7 June, it was reported that two members of the group had enjoyed a Ukrainian meal with one of our guests. They also noted that it was culturally inappropriate for Ukrainians to talk about their health. Need remains great, and so opportunity to donate clothing, bedding, children’s toys and wheelchairs (among other things) has reopened. Next meeting: Wednesday 5 July 2023, 7.00pm. ALL WELCOME. But unless there are pressing items for an agenda this meeting will be cancelled.
Olesia (our Ukraine resident in Ampleforth) asks if anyone could give her a lift to Easingwold between June 19th to July 20th so she can catch a bus to York University for her English course. She would need to leave at 7.30 am to get into Easingwold for 8 am each day. She is reliant on public transport from Ampleforth which doesn’t run at that time. Her mobile number is 07842252996.

METHODIST ASYLUM PROJECT The Old Summer House has reopened to receive gifts, destined to assist the work of the Methodist Asylum Project in Middlesbrough. Delivery on Wednesday June 28th so plan to leave donations before Monday 26th. As usual emergency donations of toiletries, underwear, socks, trainers shoes etc; for both men and women are needed. As people are accommodated items of bedding, cooking utensils are required to augment what is given by local authorities.
